"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority ... the Constitution was made to guard against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." - Noah Webster

"There is no worse tyranny than forcing a man to pay for what he does not want just because you think it would be good for him."

No Excuses

There are no excuses for why we are paying the kinds of prices at the pump for gasoline and for propane and natural gas for our homes.  As I've posted before, the United States is sitting on more oil reserves than the rest of the OPEC nations combined.

Now comes this article from Salon online that confirms what I have believed for years, based on my studies on geology as a creationist.  Go read the article.  Keep in mind that Salon is anything but a right-wing or Christian publication in any way, shape, or form.

Also keep in mind that the massive earthquake in Japan has proven that we can build reasonably safe nuclear plants.  If you are one of those people who thinks that everything has to be totally, completely safe from all possible disasters, SHUT UP, sit down, and be quiet, the rational adults are talking here.  I've never heard so much unscientific, irrational nonsense as the hysteria that has resulted from the earthquakes in Japan regarding nuclear power.

If you are not intellectually capable of understanding the technology at it's simplest, then you should be paying $12 per gallon of gas, and you might need to move to a country that accommodates your silliness.  But make sure it's not France, since 90% of their electricity comes from nuclear power. You might want to check all those countries in Eurabia for that same reason.
